On the afternoon of March 26th, the Graduation Ceremony and Degree Awarding Ceremony of the Class of 2021 of School of Agriculture and Biology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in the Lecture Hall of Building A. The Secretary Pei Zhou, Dean Hongwei Xue, Vice Dean Zhicheng Liu, Vice Dean Xinhong Li, Vice Dean Yapeng Fang, alumni of the school, Directors of four departments, representatives of teachers and all the graduates of the class of 2021 attended this activity. The ceremony was presided over by Zheng Hao, the deputy party secretary of the school.

 

 

The commencement and degree conferring ceremony for the Class of 2021 began with the solemn national anthem. First of all, Dean Hongwei Xue presented his warmest congratulations to the class of 2021 in his speech. He highly praised the graduates' spiritual pursuit as "indomitable spirit" and their outstanding contributions to the country's fight against the epidemic, and encouraged everyone to always remember the ambition of "promoting agricultural construction" and the mission of "strengthening agricultural building". At the same time, Dean Xue expressed his sincere hope to all the graduates, hoping that they are able to "take their responsibilities bravly and build up the backbone in the struggle", "be confident in the success and failure and grasp the stabilizer in the struggle".

 

 

 

 

On behalf of the graduates, student Yi Wen of the class of 2021 expressed her gratitude to the school, teachers and classmates, shared the unforgettable memories during her master study, and encouraged students to turn their experiences into the courage to overcome difficulties in their future life. At last, she concluded with her own experience, called on everyone to enjoy life, but also adhere to the faith and pursuit in the heart, holding a deep understanding of their mission. It is the duty of graduates' to start to shoulder responsibilities.

 

 

 

 

The ceremony honored 7 city-level outstanding graduates and 23 university-level outstanding graduates. The Secretary Pei Zhou and Dean Hongwei Xue delivered the certificates to all awarded students.

 

 

 

 

At the degree awarding ceremony, all the graduates dressed in academic gowns and went on stage orderly. The Secretary Pei Zhou and Dean Hongwei Xue shook hands with them one by one, turned the tassel, handed over the degree certificates and took a group photo with them.

 

 

The graduates of the class of 2021 planted a persimmon tree in the school through the graduation donation, showing their fine tradition as their last action before graduation, leaving a good example to the junior students.
